Preparing For Eyelid Plastic Surgery
Has the day for your eyelid plastic surgery finally arrived? Don't get too excited; you might forget what you need to do to prepare yourself on the day of your operation. This is basically a short guide for you to follow to supplement your surgeon's advice. If you have any questions that haven't been addressed here, ask your doctor immediately. Other than that, let's get started!
So on the morning of your big day, you have your hospital bag ready, someone to bring you and pick you up from the hospital. Everything else is standing by the front door. You may have forgotten however to get a full scrub down in the shower. If you decided to skip this, it would be wise to take a hot shower or wash your face thoroughly before getting your eyelid plastic surgery done. Resist the urge to put on any make-up. This helps clear your skin and avoid any infections. Also resist the temptation to wear any unnecessary accessories, like necklaces or earrings. This is so you don't have to bother removing everything when you are being operated on. Try to come in the most comfortable fitting clothes you have. If you're getting a general anesthesia, chances are you'll fall asleep, but if you are under local anesthesia, you will appreciate this when you start feeling discomfort after sitting still for so long.
Depending on the type of anesthesia you are getting, you may also want to clear with your surgeon what you have to do on the morning of your surgery. Any medication for any condition you have has to be taken at a much earlier time. Remember not to eat anything is the doctor has asked you to fast before the operation. Avoid drinking too much liquid as well. Follow everything your doctor advises you to do before your eyelid plastic surgery, and you'll be fine.
