Double Eyelid Plastic Surgery
Everyone knows that the most prominent feature of any person’s face is their eyes. These can express a lot more in a single muscle movement than a mouth spewing out a hundred words a minute. This makes it easy to see why so many people from all over the world choose to get eyelid plastic surgery.
Blepharoplasty, as the procedure is also called, is not only popular in the Western countries but also in Asia as well. Western cases of eyelid plastic surgery usually involve the desire to look younger through operations that incise excess skin while most cases in the east involve women of any age who want to have more western looking eyes by removing excess fat in the lids. For western women, they prefer to undertake this sort of procedure when their eyes start going south – crow’s feet, eye bags, laugh lines… etc. For most eastern women who want this done, it is usually early on in their adult life. This is because a lot of Asian women do not possess the double eyelid, or the crease in between the top and bottom part of their upper eyelid. This crease, as believed by most, makes it easier to apply make-up and look more attractive.
Double eyelid plastic surgery however, is not really meant to make Asian clients look American or European, usually it only involves minor changes to follow the natural folds that some Asian women already have but want to emphasize, making it look more natural. If you’re interested in this sort of procedure, there are a lot of different types of procedures you can choose from. Recently, a new scarless technique has been developed that removes the need for incisions and it allows for a much quicker healing period. This is however, not as long lasting as traditional operations.
